The Micro Projects Programme in the Nine Niger Delta States (MPP9) is a programme executed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the European Union (EU).

The Project

An estate of four-bedroom duplexes each with two-bedroom boys quarters comprising of four prototypes, a single generator house supplying the four houses, a security house and other few landscaping features. The aim was to achieve a more functional design, a better facade, enhanced landscape, better road network and parking lots thus transforming the estate into a better habitable dwelling.

Project Duration: 6 months

  1. Enhancement of the functionality of the building
  2. Enhancement of the landscape
  3. Enhancement of the road network
  4. Transformation of the facade to become more aesthetically appealing

Structural Works

The structural works carried out include; the introduction of new beams and columns to support the structural stability of buildings owing to the changes made on the as-built and the roof design.

Electrical Works

The electrical components of the houses were overhauled. We introduced conduit piping (old electrical fittings/pipes were replaced with new ones to ensure uninterrupted supply of light and also electrical fittings that are best suited to illuminate room spaces at the same time enhancing the interior spaces ) thunder arrestor (lightning prevention), air conditioning and power supply.

Mechanical Works

Substantial mechanical restructuring was carried out in the houses. Sewage and water supply piping (old sanitary fitting/pipes were replaced with the better upgrade of the old ones and a better arrangement of sanitary fittings thereby creating convenience within the circulation space and fitting.), air conditioning, and water supply.
